The Tamarind Dhow

Take a cruise around Mombasa old town while you enjoy a tantalizing seafood meal.
The cruise departs from the Tamambo Jetty, cruises serenely up the Tudor Creek to a secluded spot where the dhow moors. The servings consist of a delicious Tamarind seafood platter or a prime Kenyan fillet steak followed by a fresh tropical fruit salad and rounded off with Kenyan Coffee and halwa. Thereafter the dhow returns to the jetty.

This is an exciting and unforgettable experience for those who wish to enjoy an exotic dinner in the ocean.

The floating restaurant is part of the Tamarind Group. The twinkling lights of Mombasa and the starlit skies provide idyllic surroundings for a delicious seafood dinner meticulously prepared in Swahili style on the deck in front of the guests.

Your evening begins once you are picked from your hotel and driven to the pier. As soon as you step off the gangplank, you are met by a traditionally-dressed waiter who shows you to your table, and serves you with a house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice. Non-alcoholic drinks are offered too.

Once the dhow departs from the jetty, the live band starts playing beautiful rhythms, and soon the swing has majority of guests dancing on the main deck.

After a cruise round Tudor Creek with a fine view of Mombasa’s Old Town and Fort Jesus, you are transferred to your hotel for a beautiful night rest.
