Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park & Wasini Island Tour

Located on the south coast off Shimoni, and south of Wasini Island, this marine reserve is known for its beautiful coral gardens. The shallow water can be easily reached by boat arranged from the jetty at Shimoni.

The day typically includes a transfer to Shimoni where you board a dhow to explore Kisite Mpunguti and go snorkeling. This is followed by a seafood lunch at one of the restaurants on the tiny Wasini Island with time to explore before the return dhow trip.

The great escape starts early morning when you are picked from your hotel. You visit Shimoni Caves, the historic caves where Arabs used to hold slaves while waiting  for the arrival of ships to transfer them to Zanzibar.

You proceed to Kenya Wildlife Offices where you view a short movie on marine life and what you would expect to see on the boat ride. You thereafter depart by boat to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park even as you explore breath taking scenery of the ocean.

The playful dolphins and the larger marine life are a sight to behold. You get to a calm beach where your guides anchor the boat to let you dive or swim with the dolphins at a close range!

At 1230hrs you break for lunch at Wasini Restaurant. The restaurant is located at Wasini Island right at the beach front with magnificent views. After lunch you crown your tour with a board walk along the Mangroove forest that borders the sea shore. You thereafter sail across to Shimoni island where you had left your motor vehicle. Your driver guide transfers you to your hotel for a deserved rest.
