At 0900hrs you are picked from your hotel and depart for Haller Park, the largest animal sanctuary in Mombasa.
The location of the park was previously a barren piece of land that had been stripped of its resources through limestone mining, and was redeveloped through reforestation, conservation and landscaping efforts. It is now a habitat for a large variety of flora and fauna.
The Park boasts an enormous variety of animals, reptiles, a variety of bird species, and botanical gardens. The pavilion area has a butterfly farm.
A walk along the trail is the ideal way to look at the various animals, and occasionally holding or feeding a reptile such as a snake is allowed under close supervision of a guide.
Educational videos are also shown, with emphasis on the history and continuous improvement of the trail.
Lunch is on self arrangement, assisted by the driver guide.
