15 Days 14 Nights Traversing Kenya Safari: Aberdare National Park – Samburu National Reserve – Ol Pejeta Consevancy – Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara National Reserve- Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Reserve – Tsavo National Parks – Diani Beach

This safari starts with a night at Kenya’s richest park with flora and fauna; the Aberdare National park, you will continue to the Northern part of Kenya for a glimpse of the special 5 animals and the Crocodile filled River of Ewaso Nyiro, visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy the only home for the Chimpanzees, descend to the Rift valley floor for a night at the Alkaline lake of Nakuru, to Maasai Mara regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife. Again you revisit the floor of Rift valley staying at Lake Naivasha which is hugged by grassy banks and a tranquil environment for nature walks, proceed with your adventure heading to the floor of  Mt. Kilimanjaro; Amboseli National Park, visit to Tsavo West National Park and have a glance of the man eaters route, then Tsavo East National Park  where you dine with the red Elephants and other animals as they come for water at the salt lit water hole near your restaurant. You finally unwind your holiday by soaking yourself in the white sandy beach in Diani. The grand holiday ends with a drop off at JKIA airport leaving you with a diary of experience.

Day One: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

Distance: Approximately 173 Kms
Drive Duration: About 3hours
You will be met at your place of accommodation in Nairobi or JKIA Airport by the company representative and the driver guide, briefing about your safari then you will depart for the Aberdare National Park. The 3 hours’ drive gets you at your base hotel; the Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch. Aberdare country club is located on the slopes of Mweiga Hill, about 190 kilometers from Nairobi. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Ark Tree Lodge located inside the Park. Here you will watch wildlife from the comfort of the hotel / at the safety of your balcony. The habitats of this park include the Lion, Leopard, African Elephant, African Hunting Dog, Giant Forest Hog, Bushbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Cape Buffaloes, Suni, Side-Striped Jackal, Eland, Duikers Olive Baboon, Black and White Colobus Monkey and Sykes Monkey. Rarer sightings include those of the Golden Cat and the Bongo – an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Dinner and overnight stay at the Ark as you continue watching the game at the salt lit water hole. Meals Included: Lunch & dinner.

Day Two: Aberdare National Park – Samburu National Reserve

Distance: Approximately 200 Kms
Drive Duration: About 4hours
After breakfast you will depart for a scenic drive to the Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, there is little time to settle in or have a quick nap before you set off on the first game drive. Surrounded by interestingly shaped hills, you will fall in love with this region. Your afternoon drive will usually have you back in the lodge by sun down, but it all depends on what enthralling sightings you come across. Look out for the Samburu special five, which include the Beisa oryx, the Reticulated giraffe, the Gerenuk, Samburu ostrich, and the Grevy’s zebra, as well as the big cats, and everything else in between. Day Three: Samburu National Reserve

Start your day with an early morning wake-up call so that you never miss a moment of the action. A morning game drive is often the best time to see many animals on the move before the heat of the day sets in. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to relax and absorb the unique atmosphere of Africa, as you gaze out over the plains.
You can enjoy the refreshing swimming pool before and after lunch, and then it will be time to set out into the reserve again on your afternoon game drive. In addition to all the animals already mentioned, keep a look out for olive baboons, warthogs, and many species of antelope. There are also over 350 recorded species of birds in this reserve including kingfishers, sun birds, bee-eaters, storks, hornbills, and many raptors. Day Four: Samburu National Reserve – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Distance: Approximately 145 Kms
Drive Duration: About 3hours
After breakfast you will depart for the famous Sweet Waters – Ol Pejeta Conservancy Sweet waters land.  You arrive in time for lunch, then lunch is  followed by a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens! This conservancy boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. So you have high chances of unprecedented close encounters. Whether its game drives, lion tracking or relaxing by pool, Ol Pejeta is bound to delight. Diner and overnight at your accommodation as reserved. Meal included: Breakfast, lunch, & dinner.

Day Five: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Lake Nakuru National Park

Distance: Approximately 177 Kms
Drive Duration: About 4 hours

After early breakfast you will depart for Nakuru. On the way you will have a brief stop at breath taking Thomson falls along Nyahururu. You will then proceed to arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, followed by game drives in this park which is also known as a bird watchers paradise. Flocks of flamingos are found on Lake Nakuru turning it pink. It is also home to the endangered black & white rhino, big cats and a prime area to see the Nocturnal leopard on a lucky day. Spend dinner and overnight at your accommodation as reserved.

Day Six: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Distance: Approximately 245 Kms
Drive Duration: About 5 hours
Depart Lake Nakuru early in the morning, drive to Maasai Mara passing through the beautiful flower farms of Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch. Upon arrival you will check in and have lunch,  thereafter you will take your first thrilling afternoon game drive in the Maasai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa’s top safari destinations. The undeniable highlight of the Maasai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet.  Large prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Day Seven: Maasai Mara National Reserve Full day Game drives

After breakfast you will proceed for a full day game drive in this finest reserve. The game drives take you in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. Wherever you go in the vast Maasai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as the Masai giraffe, Baboons, Warthogs, the bat eared foxes, the grey jackals, the spotted hyena, Topis, Impala, Hartebeests, wildebeest. The Savannah Elephants, the African cape buffaloes, Zebras and Hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see Black manned lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Leopards are are usually nocturnal, but reasonably common. You will also be taken for an optional cultural visit to a Masai village. This part is paid direct by self. Back to the lodge in the evening. Day Eight: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Lake Naivasha

Distance: Approximately 260 Kms
Drive Duration: About 5 hours
After breakfast you will check out and depart for Lake Naivasha, one of the Kenyan fresh water lakes to arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. Lunch is followed by an afternoon boat ride at the lake where the driver will assist you get the boat men who will take you for the boat ride to Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island. You do a short briefing from boat men and driver and proceed for the ride. The boat takes you on a scenic tour of the lake with a visit to the Crescent Island which is an Animal and Bird Sanctuary on the Eastern Side of Lake Naivasha. A number of mammals can be seen grazing in the surrounding lake environs such as Maasai giraffe, zebra, dik diks, steenbok, impala, gazelles and, at night, hippos. You spend some time wandering around at your own pace and enjoy the peace and silence broken only by the sounds of the Islands wild inhabitants. At 1700 hrs you will return to where you had left your driver then drive to the lodge.

Day Nine: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

Distance: Approximately 350 Kms
Drive Duration: About 6 hours
Early breakfast on request, at 0700hrs you depart for Amboseli National Park via the South Bypass road in Nairobi. You proceed with a drive through the scenic Maasai / Kamba plains along Nairobi Mombasa road, a brief stopover at Emali town then continue to arrive for lunch. After lunch you depart for the afternoon game drive. A visit to this park will confirm that while Mount Kilimanjaro is located in neighboring Tanzania, the best views are from the Kenyan side. On a clear day you will be able to get a splendid view of this snow-capped mountain; Africa’s highest mountain. This park is the perfect place to be for you to see some of the big five up close – especially the elephants. If you are lucky, you can see a herd of more than 50 elephants in one go. All the big five are also well represented in this park. Other animals include; the Cheetah, Wild dogs, the Maasai Giraffe, Zebra, Crocodile in Lake Amboseli , the Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik- dik, Lesser Kudu, and Nocturnal Porcupine together with a prolific birdlife featuring over 600 species.

Day Ten: Amboseli National Park

On this day you will wake up for the morning game drive with a chance to see the beauty of sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you may relax by the pool or at the comfort of your room until lunch. After lunch you go for another game drive and explore this park further until 1800 hrs when you return for dinner and overnight at your accommodation as reserved. Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day Eleven: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo West National Park

Distance : Approximately 82Kms
Drive Duration: About 2hours
After breakfast, you will depart with a leisurely drive to Tsavo West National Park. The park is a vast expansion of African savannah with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which is a water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, an example of recent volcanic eruption. The Movie Ghost and the Darkness was shot in this park. Lunch at the lodge followed by game drives until evening. Day Twelve: Tsavo West National Park – Tsavo East National Park

Distance : Approximately 132Kms
Drive Duration: About 2hours
After breakfast you will check out of the hotel and depart to the neighbouring Tsavo East National Park to arrive in time for lunch at Voi Wildlife lodge. After lunch you depart for a tour at Tsavo East National Park which is renowned for its large numbers of red elephants, the famous man eating lions and other physical attractions like Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River and Aruba Dam. You have also a chance to see animals like rhinos, leopards, cheetah, and giraffes among other wildlife. Day Thirteen: Tsavo East National Park – Diani Beach

Distance : Approximately 188Kms
Drive Duration: About 4hours
After breakfast you will depart from Tsavo East and drive leisurely to the coastal town of Mombasa. You will arrive in the afternoon and check in at your resort for 2 nights stay on half board accommodation. You will spend your leisure at the pristine white sand beach with optional water activities on self- arrangement. Overnight at your accommodation as reserved. Meals included; Breakfast & dinner.

Day Fourteen: Diani Beach Leisure

Spend your day at leisure along this pristine white sand beach endowed with sparkling turquoise water, exotic beauty, breath-taking shores and fascinating marine wildlife. You will engage in various beach activities and water sports; on own arrangement. Overnight at your accommodation as reserved.  Meals included; Breakfast & dinner.

Day Fifteen: Diani Beach – Nairobi by Flight

After breakfast you will check out of the hotel, then the driver will pick and transfer you to Moi international airport or Ukunda airport. At the airport you will check in for your flight to Nairobi which in an hour’s time will land you at JKIA airport where you will again transfer to the international terminal to check in for your onward flight home.
