10 Days 9 Nights Fly In Luxury Safari: Ol Pejeta Conservancy- Samburu National Reserve – Maasai Mara National Reserve – Giraffe Manor

Close your eyes and take a move to meet with luxury in the bush!.  With a  flight you land at Nanyuki Airstrip in one hours’ time, visit to the nearby  Ol Pejeta, the treasured conservancy in Sweet waters for 2 nights. With a short road trip proceed to the North for a stay along Ewaso Nyiro River for 2 more nights near the Elephant Research centre.  Enjoy another flight via Nanyuki to get you in Maasai Mara the Jewel of wildlife in Africa to be your home for 4 nights. Fly to Nairobi to conclude safari in the city with a night at the Giraffe Manor for an exclusive encounter with the giraffes before  a proceed to the airport the next day and fly with a treasure of memories.

Day One:  Fly Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Distance 217 kms, driving time about 3 hours
You are met at JKIA airport’s arrival section by the company Representative and the driver. After meet and greet you will be transferred to Wilson airport to check in for your 1000hrs flight to Nanyuki airstrip. On arrival in Nanyuki you will be transferred to the famous Sweet Waters – Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi. You arrive in time for lunch at the camp. After lunch you start your exploration with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens! This conservancy boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Whether its game drives or relaxing by pool, Sweet waters is bound to delight.

Day Two:  Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Another day in this conservancy to explore more, with breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. You will also enjoy day and night shared game drives and a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Day Three:  Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Samburu National Reserve

Distance:  Approx 157kms ||Driving time about 3 hours
After breakfast you will check out and you will be transferred to Nanyuki town where you will meet our guide to proceed with your road transfer to Samburu.  With a scenic drive to the North heading to Samburu National Reserve you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, there is little time to settle in or have a quick nap before you set off on the first game drive. Surrounded by interestingly shaped hills, you will fall in love with this region. Your afternoon drive will usually have you back in camp by sun down, but it all depends on what enthralling sightings you come across. Look out for the Samburu special five, which include the Beisa oryx, the Reticulated giraffe, the Gerenuk, Samburu ostrich, and the Grevy’s zebra, as well as the big cats, and everything else in between.

Day Four: Samburu National Reserve Day Game Drives

Start your day with an early morning wake-up call so that you never miss a moment of the action. A morning game drive is often the best time to see many animals on the move before the heat of the day sets in. You will return to the camp for breakfast and some time to relax and absorb the unique atmosphere of Africa, as you gaze out over the plains.
You can enjoy the refreshing swimming pool before and after lunch, and then it will be time to set out into the reserve again on your afternoon game drive. In addition to all the animals already mentioned, keep a look out for olive baboons, warthogs, and many species of antelope. There are also over 350 recorded species of birds in this reserve including kingfishers, sun birds, bee-eaters, storks, hornbills, and many raptors.

Day Five: Fly Samburu National Reserve – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kalama airstrip in time for your 0930hrs flight to Maasai Mara. The 1 hour 30 mins jet will land you in Mara at about 1100 hrs.  Upon arrival you will be transferred to the camp, check in, have lunch and relax, thereafter you will take your first thrilling evening game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa’s top safari destinations. The Mara reserve incorporates 1510 km² of incredible, wide-open landscapes and fertile reverie woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Returning from your foray into Masai Mara you will have dinner and relax under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the bush.

Day Six: Maasai Mara Game Reserve Morning & Afternoon Game Drives

The game drives take you in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as the Masai giraffe, Baboons, Warthogs, the bat eared foxes, the grey jackals, the spotted hyena, Topis, Impala, Hartebeests, wildebeest. The Savannah Elephants, the African cape buffaloes, Zebras and Hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see Black manned lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Leopards are usually nocturnal, but reasonably common. You may also opt for a cultural visit to the Maasai village. As you arrive there, excited children and adults welcome you with songs and dances, at certain times, one of the dancers will jump up and down gracefully. The jumps are several feet high! You will be invited to try jumping too, but to your dismay you will be no match for their levitation act!! You will then be welcome into one of the homesteads in the village huts (called Manyatta) are made of cow dung and clay plastered over stick frames. It is a memorable experience of its own after which you will return to the camp.

Day Seven:  Maasai Mara National Reserve Hot Air Balloon

Today you will take a balloon ride with a pick up from the lodge at 0500 hrs, transfer to the Balloon launch site where you will meet your pilot for a briefing, after which the hot air balloon will take off.  You will soar high over the Savannah plains while wildlife roams wild and free beneath you. A gentle ascent takes you well above tree-top level and the whispering light breeze soothes the hearts as you enjoy a panoramic view of wildlife drama unequalled anywhere in the world. The thrilling drama of nature’s battle of predators verses the prey is constantly displayed. It’s a worthy ride! Hot air balloon safari flight is for about one hour depending on the weather conditions, on landing you will celebrate in the traditional manner with champagne breakfast prepared and served in the bush in ‘Out of Africa’ style. After breakfast you will continue your adventure of the day.

Day Eight: Maasai Mara National Reserve

One more day in this game reserve with early morning game drives , return to the camp for breakfast. Some time at the pool or at the comfort of your room until lunch, followed by more afternoon game drives as you try to capture what has not been captured in all other game drives.

Day Nine: Fly Maasai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi

After breakfast you will check out and transfer to Keekorok Airstrip for your 1100hrs flight to Wilson airport in Nairobi.  On arrival you will be transferred to Giraffe Manor for lunch. After lunch you will enjoy your afternoon and explore as you wish. When staying at the giraffe Manor, the entrance to Giraffe Centre is included. While there you will participate in hand feeding which lets you discover these huge creatures. There is a well – crafted information centre where you will get to learn more about the giraffes and their conservation and a nature trail through the surrounding uplands forest that lets you explore the typical giraffe habitat. At the end of the day you will spend your dinner with the friendly giraffes as they peep through the windows.
